
EIBF is seeking a responsible and dynamic Communications & Events Intern to support our staff in daily operations from October. This role involves a variety of tasks related to event planning, communication, and administrative support. As a small federation, we value hands-on interns who are capable of multitasking and taking initiative.

The European & International Booksellers Federation (EIBF) is a non-commercial umbrella organisation representing national Booksellers Associations within the EU, the EEA and outside of Europe. Through its members, EIBF speaks on behalf of more than 25,000 individual booksellers. Depending on the country, booksellers represented include independent booksellers, national bookshop chains, supermarkets, internet retailers and other cultural or general outlets selling books.
2 | THE INTERNSHIP
EIBF’s internship opportunity enables students and recent graduates to gain experience in lobbying for a great product - books - at a challenging and exciting time for the bookselling industry. We are looking for responsible and dynamic interns, capable of self-initiative, to support EIBF staff in its daily work, covering a wide range of tasks surrounding event planning and communication. EIBF being a very small federation, the intern has to be “hands-on” and able to multi-task.
3 | THE ROLE
Tasks
- Assist in the preparation of updates and briefings for EIBF members;
- Assist with the organization of key events such as our RISE Bookselling Conference (support on logistics and communication);
- Assist in implementing EIBF’s and RISE’s communications strategy (social media campaign, newsletter, press releases, website management, etc.);
- Assist with content creation for EIBF blog and social media channels;
- Office management and administration
- Assist with implementation of our RISE Booksellers Exchange Programme (logistics and communication);
- Assist EIBF in implementing the communication strategy for the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL)
Languages
Fluent English (native level), other European languages a plus.

1 October – 30 April
Duration
7 months full time. We work part-time from home, part-time from the office.
Education background
Bachelor degree minimum.
Administrative requirements
The trainee must have the right to work in Belgium.
Type of contract
Belgian convention d’immersion professionelle (CIP), remuneration of 1050€/month + reimbursement of monthly public transport subscription (STIB)
