The Ceylon Booksellers Importers and Exporters Association was established in 1958 to protect the interests of the booksellers and the growing requirement of the reading public.
The Association represents book importers and booksellers across the country. We currently have 29 members operating indie bookstores, bookstore chains as well as online bookstores.
In November 2019, the Ceylon Booksellers Importers Association marked 60 years of service to the book trade of Sri Lanka.
The Association is governed by a committee comprising of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Immediate Past President and seven committee members. The Committee meets every month to discuss various issues and concerns related to the trade.
